National, and many state accreditation standards (e.g. CALEA) require psychological evaluation of SWAT and hostage team members. In addition, a number of agencies have found it prudent to evaluate members prior to placement in sensitive special assignments such as Vice/Narcotics and/or extended undercover roles.
